What is this regularization about?

Extraordinary Regularization 2026

It's a reform of the Immigration Regulation that allows certain foreign nationals who were in Spain before 01/01/2026 to obtain a residence and work permit. In addition, people who applied for asylum before 01/01/2026 and are in Spain can access the residence permits based on arraigo (ties to Spain) provided for in the Immigration Regulation.
